Active antennas and passive antennas are two common types, and they differ in terms of principles, structures and applications. If there is a box and a light on the antenna, then it is an active antenna.

An antenna without a box and without a light is a passive antenna.

What is a leaf antenna?

The blade antenna is scientifically known as a periodic logarithmic antenna. It is the most common and widespread type of antenna in the field of radio. It is often referred to as shark fin blades, paddles, etc. within the industry.

We also discovered that there is a module for amplification on this type of antenna. This antenna is the same as the aforementioned passive antenna, but it integrates an amplifier on the antenna itself. Besides, it is exactly the same as the passive antenna.

Many antennas are combined with the amplification module to form active antennas through detachable components. Some directly integrate the antenna and the amplification module together. However, their performance is the same.

• To counteract this attenuation, we make corresponding compensations based on the amount of signal attenuation during cable transmission, in order to achieve balance, that is, 0 in and 0 out.

In this way, the signals received by the antenna will be transmitted without loss to the distribution host for use by the receiver.
